Anika Noni Rose is an American actor and singer. Her most well-known role is Tiana Disney's first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robertson in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actress and a vocalist. She is best known for the role in the role of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the original African American Disney princess. The film was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. She is also known for her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning Film Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in the Starz show Power. She has also been recognized for her performances in the theatre, such as her starring role as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which she received the Tony Award was won for Best actress in a the Musical.
